If the NH Department of Labor hasn’t visited you yet, they are probably coming. They are looking at their revenue streams in this economy, just like the rest of us. Small business owners generally don’t have the manpower or the know-how to meet all the regulations affecting them, so they are wide open for penalties. Where are you at risk?

NH requires businesses of five employees or more to conduct quarterly JLMC (Joint Loss Management Committee meetings) on a quarterly basis, and post their minutes.

NH also requires businesses of five employees or more to have a Temporary/Alternative Duty Program, submit a NH New Hire Report for all new hires, have a written Safety Program, have a New Hire Rate of Pay form completed for all employees, and have all the required State & Federal posters posted in an area convenient to all employees.

The #1 Wage & Hour violation in 2008 was failure to provide written notice to their employees of their wage rate, pay period, pay and general fringe benefits when they are hired and before any changes occur.

HR Compliance 101, LLC would be happy to help you with these and any other areas of concern. If you don’t have these systems & procedures in place, send us an e-mail through our website www.hrcompliance101.com or call 603-831-2114. We’ll help you be ready.
