How often should you blog? I decided to experiment with my own blog to see if the conventional wisdom was correct: if you're going to blog, be prepared to post once a week.

I deliberately kept NHBusinessBlog free of new posts for three weeks. Here's what happened. In the past, with a post appearing at least once a week, the site welcomed over 310 visitors a week, often drawing in 20 visitors a day. After three weeks without any new posts, those numbers tumbled down until 10 visitors a day was an achievement.

The harm extended to my own website, www.twriteplus.com. My blog normally provides 25% of the referrals to my site; after a three week lull, it accounted for barely 17%.

If you start a blog, you want to know you can post every week. Writing posts is part of my job: I ghostwrite posts for several companies in the service industries. They don't have to worry about finding topics, time or the exactly right words. I do it all. write [at] twriteplus [dot] com (Email) me today and start driving traffic to your site.
