Sometimes your existing website just needs a little tweaking, and often a low-cost review of the site will reveal the best places to make those few quick fixes.

When I reviewed the PeopleSense Consulting website at the owner's request, I realized immediately that she was a very good writer as well as a great resource for companies. The changes we made could be just what your own site needs. First:

  • Make sure the value propositions lead every page. For example, the PeopleSense Hiring page formerly took three long paragraphs to get to this statement that now appears after just two sentences: "We help you find a match that leads to success for you, the employee and your organization. We minimize your interview time and maximize the information you obtain."
  • Create more energy. For example, the website's old home page began with "Understanding the people in your organization gives you a competitive edge." That's quite good. But we revved it up with this start: "Success: to reach and exceed your goals, you need the entire company on board."
  • Reduce the content and increase the use of keywords. That means customers are more likely to read and more likely to find the site using a Google search.
  • Eliminate information peripheral to the company's main business and emphasize information that's critical to customers. In the case of PeopleSense consulting, we replaced a dated page with information The PeopleSense Method.
