Monadnock Buy Local (MBL), a network of locally-owned & independent businesses, organizations and citizens, announces the launch of its 2011 Shift Your Shopping Holiday Campaign on Plaid Friday, November 25, 2011.
Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses, reminds individuals to "think local first" during the holiday shopping season and offers a fun and enjoyable alternative to the big box store "Black Friday" consumer frenzy. Citizens are asked to wear plaid on November 25th to show their support for their local economy and community.
Visit locally-owned businesses throughout the Mondnock Region - and MBL's Ten Plaid Friday Hubs: Howard's Leather in Spofford, Life is Sweet Candy Store in Keene, MindFull Books & Ephemera in Jaffrey, One Stop Country Pet in Keene, Prime Roast Coffee Roasters in Keene, Inn at Valley Farms and Walpole Valley Farms in Walpole, and the Toadstool Bookshops in Peterborough & Keene. These businesses will photograph staff and customers wearing plaid.
MBL will also raffle off items donated by locally-owned businesses throughout the day.
