Lessons from BizConNH

Yesterday I spoke at and attended BizConNH, the Monadnock Region's biggest business event, and here's what I learned:
(a) Communities are everywhere. Keynote speaker Mark Robinson of Handicapped Pets explained the importance of personally connecting with your community whether it's in your neighborhood or on the web.
(b) Businesses that help build and contribute to a community are known. Mark gave three local examples and you could feel the warm regard for those companies in the audience.
(c) To contribute to community you must have a plan. You cannot give time, money and products to every charity and event. A plan lets you explain your rationale for giving and participating without offending anyone whose request you have to decline.
BizConNH attracted 150 exhibitors and attendees, including owners, managers and employees of businesses throughout the Monadnock Region and beyond. That instant community stepped up to the plate to network, educate, join forces and share ideas. And they step up to the plate every day of every year to give back to their own local business and personal communities.
Join us at the next BizConNH. Find your community. It's right at your doorstep.
